Important 2021-22 Student-Athlete Information

CANANDAIGUA — The Finger Lakes Community College Department of Athletics is pleased to be welcoming student-athletes back to campus later this week.

This is an exciting time for our student-athletes, both those returners and those who are new to the Lakers. As you prepare to come to campus, the Department of Athletics wants to remind all FLCC students of three important facts to know before you arrive.

  1. If you plan on having a presence on campus, you must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
    • To participate as a student-athlete, you must upload proof of vaccination to the Student Health Portal. Information on how to access the portal can be found here.
      • Student-athletes must have received their first vaccination dose prior to the first practice and must be fully vaccinated to compete for your team.
  2. Before you can participate in a practice or compete with your team, you must complete your SportsWare paperwork and have a valid physical on file.
  3. Regardless of your COVID-19 vaccination status, whenever you are inside a campus building, whether for classes or practice, masks must always be worn. Additionally, all students must practice responsible social distancing.

Students who are not eligible for the vaccine due to a medical condition may file for a medical exemption by contacting studenthealth@flcc.edu. In very limited cases, religious exemptions may be considered. Students should contact studenthealth@flcc.edu. For other questions about vaccinations, please email studenthealth@flcc.edu.

If you have any questions about your SportsWare paperwork or the status of your physical, contact Jackie Crossgrove, FLCC’s athletic trainer, at jackie.crossgrove@flcc.edu.

For more information on any of the Lakers’ athletics teams, please contact the appropriate head coach.

For any other athletics-related questions, please email athletics@flcc.edu.

We look forward to seeing you on campus for the 2021-2022 academic year!
