Frederick Tops Lakers 13-2

FREDERICK, MD -- The Finger Lakes Baseball team lost to Division II Frederick Community College on Tuesday by the score of 13-2.

The Lakers are now 1-4 on the young season. They will travel south to Newport News, Virginia to face Thomas Nelson Community College on Wednesday night.

Max Franzone had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Lakers. Ryan Juergens also drove in a run. Anthony Pagliaro threw four strong innings in his first collegiate start. The freshman struck out two and allowed only three hits.

Caden Giroux led the game off with a single for Finger Lakes. He advanced to second on a groundout and scored on a Max Franzone single for the early 1-0 lead. Frederick would use a two-out rally in the third to plate four runs and take the lead. The Lakers would answer in the fourth when Franzone led off with a single. He would advance to third with one out and Ryan Juergens singled him home to make it 4-2. Frederick would respond however with six runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth on their way to the 13-2 victory.
