Lakers Fall to Penn State-Greater Allegheny

BUTLER, PA -- The Finger Lakes Baseball team lost a pair of games to four-year Penn State University-Greater Allegheny to close their spring trip. The Lakers fell 9-8 late on Saturday night and then lost 4-3 on Sunday morning.

Finger Lakes returns north with a record of 3-7. They will open the New York portion of their schedule on Tuesday, March 24 as they travel to Batavia to face Genesee Community College.

Dalton Murray and Isaiah Merced each went 2-3 on Saturday night for the Lakers. Murray's night also included a double and two RBIs. Ryan Juergens had a pinch hit single that scored two for Finger Lakes as a part of a six run eighth inning. Kevin VanDongen went five strong innings of relief for the Lakers, allowing only three hits and one run.

Freshman Anthony Pagliaro gave the Lakers six solid innings of work on Sunday morning. He pitched into the seventh inning and allowd just two runs on six hits. Cole Tracy went 3-4 for the Lakers in the game. Sam McCumiskey and Braxton Wilson each added a pair of hits for the Lakers.
