Baseball Swept at Monroe

ROCHESTER, NY -- The Finger Lakes Baseball team lost a doubleheader at Division II Monroe Community College on Tuesday by the scores of 7-1 and 17-0.

Finger Lakes is now 3-9 on the season. Monroe improves to 6-10 in 2015. The Lakers will next face Jefferson Community College on Thursday in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 1pm from Canandaigua, NY.

Cole Tracy had the lone hit for the Lakers in Game 1. He doubled home Max Franzone in the first inning for the early Finger Lakes lead. Ryan Landers (2-1) pitched effectively for the Lakers. He allowed only three earned runs over his six innings of work and struck out a pair of Tribunes. Monroe put up five runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-1 lead and continued onto the 7-1 victory.

Monroe used an 11-run second inning to take control of Game 2. They scored every inning and cruised to the 17-0 victory over Finger Lakes. Cameron Heasley and Isaiah Merced had hits for the Lakers in the second game.
