Lakers Score 39 in Sweep of Jamestown

CANANDAIGUA -- The Finger Lakes Baseball team swept a Region III doubleheader on Sunday against Jamestown Community College. The Lakers took Game 1 20-5 and won the nightcap 19-7.

Finger Lakes improves to 12-10 on the season and 5-1 within the region. Jamestown falls to 1-3 in Region III West and holds a 2-10 record on the season. The Lakers remain at home on Tuesday as they welcome in regional foe Erie Community College. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2pm.

Finger Lakes used a 13 run third inning to break the game open against the Jayhawks in the first game. Cole Tracy and Dalton Murray each drove in three runs in the game. Jon Warner, Max Franzone, Mark Davis, and Danny Goodbread all added multiple runs batted in for the Lakers. Tracy and Warner each had a single and double in the game. Mark Davis, Braxton Wilson, and Danny Goodbread also added doubles in the win. Caden Giroux, Evan Santiago, Warner, and Franzone all stole a pair of bases as well. The 20 runs scored ranks 4th in FLCC history for most runs scored in a game.

The Lakers went 20-40 at the plate in Game 2 and scored in every inning on their way to the 19-7 victory. Braxton Wilson and Cole Tracy each had three hits in the game. Tracy also drove in three runs for the Lakers. Jon Warner, Ryan Juergens, Mark Davis, and Isaiah Merced each added two-hit days in the win. Warner and Davis each drove in a pair of runs. Max Franzone tied his own school record by scoring four times in the game. The 20 hits for Finger Lakes was the most in a game in the Lakers dating back at least to the 2011 season.
