Lakers Baseball Improves to 10-3

The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team moved their record to 10-3 overall after facing Lehigh Carbon Community College on Wednesday, March 23, and Ocean City College on Thursday, March 24.

The Lakers fell to Lehigh Carbon CC, on Wednesday, by a score of 8-7 after defeating the Cougars 2-0 the day prior.  Michael Donofrio pitched five innings for the Lakers, allowing nine hits and five strikeouts.  Mike Magnanti finished 3-for-4 with two RBI's and one run scored.  Cole Tracy, James Mitchell, Caden Giroux, Nick Ferrino and Connor Truitt went 2-for-4.  The Lakers recorded fifteen total hits against the Cougars.

On Thursday, the Lakers topped Ocean City College by a final score of 12-2. Noah Gorton pitched a complete game, allowing only six hits.  Connor Truitt went 2-for-2 with two RBI's and one run scored.  Nick Slobodiak and James Mitchell had two RBI's apiece.

The Lakers will continue their spring break competition today when they faceoff against the Riverhawks from Anne Arundel Community College in a double-header matchup.  Games are set to begin at 12 PM and 2:30 PM.
