Lakers Baseball Splits With CCBC Essex

The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team split with CCBC Essex in their double header matchup on Saturday, March 26.  With their spring break trip completed, the Lakers return home with a 13-4 overall record. 

The Lakers fell to the Knights in game one by a final score of 5-6.  Nick Ferrino finished 1-for-3 with two RBI's for the Lakers.  Caden Giroux went 2-for-3 with one run scored.  Jon Warner ended with one hit and an RBI.  

The Lakers won game two of the double header matchup by a final score of 7-1 over the Knights. Reston Pettit pitched a complete game for Finger Lakes allowing only one hit and striking out six batters.  Mike Magnanti, JT Angora, Cole Tracy, James Mitchell and Jordan VanHerpe each finished with two hits apiece.  Jon Warner drove in two runs for th Lakers.  As a team, the Lakers tallied twelve total hits.

The Lakers will return to action this Friday, April 1, when they faceoff against the Cannoneers from Jefferson Community College in their home opener of the 2016 season.  The Lakers will remain at home throughout the weekend when they host Utica's JV squad on Saturday, April 2, followed by Herkimer College on Sunday, April 3.
