Lakers Sweep Jayhawks

The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team swept the Jayhawks from Jamestown Community College on Thursday, April 7, in a NJCAA Region III, double header matchup.  The Lakers are now 17-4 overall.

Reston Pittit pitched a complete game for the Lakers, in game one, allowing three hits and struck out nine batters.   The Lakers got one run in the first inning and held their lead up until the fourth when the Jayhawks scored two.  The following inning, both team scored one run, making the score 3-2 in favor of the Jayhawks.  With two men on base, in the bottom of the seventh inning, Danny Goodbread hit a walk off double two win the game for the Lakers.  

The Lakers took control of game two winning by a score of 17-3 over the Jayhawks.  Danny Goodbread finished 4-for-4 with two RBI's and three runs scored.  Jon Warner and Nick Slobodiak had two hits and two BRI's apiece.  All together, the Lakers tallied 14 total hits.  Michael Donofrio pitched four innings for the Lakers, allowing three hits and striking out three batters.  

The Lakers will return to action on Sunday, April 10, when they host the visiting Red Barons From Corning Community College in a Mid-State Athletic Conference double header matchup.  Game one is set to begin at 1PM.
