Lakers Baseball Splits with Red Barons

The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team split games with the Red Barons from Corning Community College on Sunday, April 10, in their double header matchup.  Following the outcome of Sunday's double header, the Lakers move to 18-5 overall on the season.  

The Lakers dropped game one to the Red Barons by a final score of 5-4.  Cole DuBois started on the mound for the Lakers, allowing two hits and striking out five batters.  Mike Magnanti, JT Angora and Jon Warner had two hits apiece. Magnanti added an RBI and scored two runs for the Lakers.  Jordan VanHerpe finished 2-for-2 against the Red Barons.

The Lakers took game two by a final score of 7-4 over the red Barons.  Nick Slobodiak finished 2-for-3 with two RBI's and two runs scored for the Lakers.  Mike Magnanti went 2-for-4 with two RBI's.  Cole Tracy also finished with two hits for the Lakers.   Bryce MacClurg pitched four innings for the Lakers, striking out four batters while allowing only three hits to the Red Barons.  

The Lakers will return to action on Tuesday, April 12, when they host the visiting Kats from Erie Community College in a double header to start a four game series.  Game one is set to begin at 2PM. The Lakers will travel to Erie on Thursday, April 14, to finish out their series with the Kats.
