Lakers Baseball Start Season 4-0

The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Baseball team start their season off with a 4-0 record after defeating both Queensborough Community College and Borough of Manhattan Community College in Double headers this past weekend.  

On Saturday the Lakers defeated Queensborough CC in doth games by scores of 7-2 and 11-1. In the first game, Reston Pettit took the mound and struck out 5 batters in 6 innings.  JT Angora went 2-3 and drove in a pair of runs. Mike Magnanti and Caden Giroux also drove in a pair of runs each.

In the second game, Michalel Donofrio struck out 3 batters in 5 innings while allowing only 3 hits. Cole Tracy went 2-3 while driving in 6 runs.  JT Angora and Caden Giroux each went 2-3.  As a team, Finger Lakes had 9 hits.

On Sunday Finger Lakes defeated Borough of Manhattan CC in both games of the double header by scores of 2-1 and 19-1.  In the first game, Cole DuBois took the mound for all 7 innings striking out 11 batters while allowing only 1 hit.  Jordan VanHerpe went 2-2 and Danny Goodbread went 2-3. 

In the second game the Lakers put up a season high of 19 runs.   Connor Truitt and Mike Magnanti each went 2-3.  Connor Truitt, Ryan Richer, Danny Goodbread and Cole Tracy each drove in 2 runs.  As a team, the Lakers pounded out a season high 11 hits.

The Lakers will be back in action with a pair of games on the road against Prince George's Community College.  They will take place on Saturday 3/19 at 12:00pm and 3:00pm.  This will also mark the beginning of the Lakers 2016 Spring Trip th Myrtle Beach.
