Baseball Falls to MCC

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team hosted Monroe Community College Saturday afternoon for a doubleheader at FLCC's turf complex, and the Lakers dropped a pair of games to the Tribunes.

FLCC (7-5) lost by scores of 10-4 in game one and 8-2 in game two vs. the Tribunes (10-4).

Freshman Tim McClare (Macedon, NY/Gananda) hit an RBI double and sophomore Zach Harter (Rochester, NY/Rush Henrietta) delivered an RBI single through the right side to pull the Lakers even at four heading into the top of the fifth inning of the opener.

But MCC scored six times (three earned runs) over the final three innings to earn the win.

McClare was 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base, and Harter and freshman Alfredo Hurtado (Davie, FL/Caminade-Madonna College Preparatory) each drove in a run in game one.

In the nightcap, freshman Drew Bailey (Pittsford, NY/McQuaid Jesuit) and sophomore Devin Kelly (Clifton Springs, NY/Midlakes) each had an RBI for FLCC, which was held to five hits in game two.

These two teams will complete their home and home doubleheader series at 2 p.m. Monday at MCC. The games were originally slated for Friday but were postponed due to inclement weather.
