Lakers Pick Up Win in First Game at Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH - The Finger Lakes Community College Baseball team traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and played their first matchup apart of the Ripken Experience on Thursday, starting out on the right foot. The Lakers battled against SUNY Ulster, in 2-1 victory.

Devin Kelly (Clifton Spring, N.Y./ Midlakes) and Kenny Murphy (Webster, N.Y./ Webster Schroeder) came up big for the Lakers, each earning 1 RBI apiece to help lead the team to a 2-1 victory. Devin Georgetti (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) pitched a full-game (7 innings), allowing 1 earned run and striking out 9 batters to pick up a huge win on the mound and lead the Lakers to a victory over the Senators.

The Lakers have a quick turnaround with a rematch against SUNY Ulster and Bergen Community College, with 9 AM and 12 PM first pitches.
