Lakers Tie Win Streak Record with Sweep at Broome

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Lakers improved to 17-2 with a sweep over the Broome Hornets Monday night at Hornet Field in Binghamton, N.Y.

Game 1 vs. Broome

The Lakers cruised to a 24-2 victory behind a season-high 20 hits. Offensively the Lakers were led by Tyler Cerame (Hilton, N.Y./ Hilton) and Lucas Sulimowicz (Rochester, N.Y./ Greece Athena) with 5 and 4 RBIs respectively. Lakers Sophomore Donevan Rotmans (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) led the team with 5 runs scored.

Peyton Ahlstrom (Dunkirk, N.Y./ Dunkirk) got the win, striking out 6 batters over 4 innings to improve to 3-0 on the season. 

Game 2 vs. Broome

Josh Ferris (North Chili, N.Y./ Churchville Chili) earned his first win of the season in the nightcap, striking 6 batters over 4 innings, and Sophomore teammate Tanner Frank (Brighton, N.Y./ Brighton) earned the multi-inning save, striking out 4 batters. Offensively, the Lakers were led by Ryan Mettler (Middleport, N.Y./Royalton-Hartland with 4 hits and Vaughn Victor (Ft. Lauderdale, F.L./ Stranahan) knocked in an RBI single. 

The Lakers are back in action tomorrow, March 30th for a meeting with the #4 ranked Thunderwolves from Niagara County Community College.
