CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Lakers dropped two to the Kats of Erie Community College before going on a 4-game win streak with sweeps over Onondaga and Tompkins Cortland Community College(s).
4/10 - Game one vs. Erie
The Lakers collected 3 hits to go along with 1 RBI off the bat of sophomore Kenny Murphy (Webster, N.Y./ Webster Schroeder) in the matchup. In a low-scoring affair, the Kats would take game one, 4-1.
4/10 - Game two vs. Erie
Despite jumping out to an early 1-0 lead and carrying the edge into the bottom of the fourth inning, a 3-run fourth and 2-run seventh inning would make the difference in a 5-3 finish in favor of the Kats.
Sophomore teammates Devin Cannon (Spencerport, N.Y./ Spencerport) and Tyler Cerame (Hilton, N.Y./ Hilton) would each pick up 2 RBIs and 1 RBI respectively.
4/13 - Game one vs. Onondaga
After a two-game skid, the Lakers got back on track with a 16-11 win over Onondaga Community College on the Lazers home turf. The Lakers would collect 13 hits and 15 RBIs in their conference matchup.
Freshman Paulie Goodness (Palmyra, N.Y./ Palmyra-Macedon) put together a career performance with 4 RBIs, a double, and a triple on a 2-for-4 hitting performance. Joining his freshman teammate in the spotlight was Alex Ahlstrom (Dunkirk, N.Y./ Dunkirk) who connected on his first career home run in the game.
4/13 - Game two vs. Onondaga
The Lakers capped off their doubleheader with the Lazers with a 10-3 finish in 7-innings. Sophomore DJ Stoianovich (Fairport, N.Y./ Fairport) and freshman Collin Clark (Middleport, N.Y./ Royalton-Hartland) would each drive in 3 RBIs, while Lucas Sulimowicz (Rochester, N.Y./ Greece Athena) would hit a 2 RBI triple to help guide the Lakers over the Lazers.
Sophomore Peyton Ahlstrom (Dunkirk, N.Y./ Dunkirk) earned the start and the win, pitching 5 innings and allowing 3 hits and no earned runs. Nicholas Franceschi (Geneva, N.Y./ Geneva) came in, in relief for the final two innings, striking out 3 batters and allowing 1 earned run.
4/15 - vs. Tompkins Cortland
The Lakers kicked off their season series with the Panthers on the road, cruising to 14-3 and 8-1 wins.
