Five eSports Programs Bound for NJCAAe National Playoffs

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College eSports program is gearing up for another successful run in the Spring 2023 NJCAAe National Playoffs. With five eSports programs having passed the qualification stages and being seeded in the playoffs, the Lakers will go head-to-head with the nations best.

The Rocket League team is seeded #20 nationally in the NJCAAe Open Division, while the Rainbow Six Siege team is seeded #7 nationally in the same division. The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 team is competing in the NJCAAe Intramural Division and has earned a national ranking. The Overwatch 2 team is also in the NJCAAe Intramural Division and has secured a national ranking.

Student-athletes Joseph Yates and Destiny Rodriguez-Bellinger will represent the Lakers in the NJCAAe Intramural Division for Mario Kart 8 DX. Rodriguez-Bellinger returns to the national playoffs after earning a quarterfinal finish in the fall 2022 season.

The Lakers will join a pool of programs, including several Division I schools and scholarship-granting institutions. Playoffs will begin on April 10th for the Lakers and can be viewed live on the FLCCeSports TwitchTV account: https://www.twitch.tv/FLCCeSports
