Men's Basketball Earns First Win Of Regional Play

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team earned their first win of Regional play on Saturday against the Clinton Community College Cougars. The Lakers won 93-66.

A layup made by Rudy Bragg in the first half put the Lakers in the lead that they would keep throughout the rest of the game. The Lakers ended the first half leading the Cougars 41-25.

The Lakers came off of halftime with more to give, and scored a half-high of 52 more points in the second half. The Cougars scored 41 more points that would not put them in the lead. The game ended in a score of 93-66 in favor of the Lakers

The Lakers shot 35-66 in the field, earning them a field goal percentage of 53%. The Cougars shot 23-71 in the field, earning them a field goal percentage of 32.4%.

Game leader for the Lakers were Devin Green with 23 points, and 12 rebounds, Hakeem Dobbins with 21 points, and Averi Parker with 20 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  

The Lakers would play again on Sunday against the North Country Community College Saints.
