Men's Basketball 2-0 In Conference Play

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team won their second Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) game, making them 2-0 in the MSAC. They defeated the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets 77-73.

The Lakers had a great start against the Hornets. They managed to keep them scoreless for the first three minutes. They had a 10-0 lead. Averi Parker started the game off with a quick layup from the tip-off. As the first half went on, the Hornets started to find their rhythm. They managed to tie the game at the half, 34-34.

The Lakers came out of the locker room ready to get their lead back in the second half. Parker put them back in the lead a minute and a half into it. They kept up and ended the second half out-scoring the Hornets 43-39. This would give them their final score of 77-73.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Rodrigue Marthone with 28 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals, and Hakeem Dobbins with 15 points.

The Lakers will travel to Jefferson Community College on Saturday, January 12th for another MSAC match-up. Tip-Off will begin at 3:00pm.
