ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team kicked off their season last night against the Monroe Community College Tribunes. The Lakers lost 83-76.
The Lakers started off behind for the first two minutes of play. A layup made by Jake Thrift tied them up, and a jump shot made by Hakeem Dobbins put them in the lead. They kept the lead until just above seven minutes into the first half. The Lakers went into halftime down 46-39.
In the second half, the Lakers allowed nine less points than in the first half, and scored 37 more. They could not quite eliminate the margin and lost 83-76.
Game leaders for the Lakers were Gedeon Germinal with 18 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal, and Gethro Germinal with 18 points, two rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block.
The Lakers travel next, to Clinton Community College on Saturday, November 9th. They will play at 4:00pm.
