Lakers Keep Win Streak Alive At First Home Game of the Season

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team won their first home game of the season on Wednesday against the SUNY ESF Mighty Oaks. The Lakers won 94-55.

The Lakers started off the game with a sunken three pointer from Hakeem Dobbins. From then on, the Lakers held onto the lead. They held the Mighty Oaks to only three points until 12:17 left in the half. They finished the first half with a score of 52-23.

In the second half, the Lakers started pulling more kids off of the bench to get in on the action. Kelvin Robertson and Kendale Thompson made some big threes to pump up not only their bench, but the crown as well. The Lakers went on to score 42 more points in the second half to solidify their win. The Lakers finished the game 94-55.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Rudy Bragg with 20 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block, Gedeon Germinal with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals, and Romero Whyte with six points, nine rebounds, and one block.

The Lakers look to keep up their win streak at home on Saturday, November 16th. They will host the Mohawk Valley Hawks at 3:00pm.
