Lakers Finish 0-2 on the Weekend

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team took their second loss of the weekend on Sunday against the Herkimer College Generals. The Lakers lost 63-55.

The Lakers had a hard time getting their first points again at the beginning of the game. It took just under five minutes before Hakeem Dobbins sunk a three pointer for their first score of the game. It was 6-3 at that point. The shots the Lakers were taking just weren't falling, and at the half the score was 33-25 in favor of the Generals.

The Lakers managed to limit the Generals to only scoring 30 more points, while the Lakers picked up 30 for themselves as well. At 13:50 left in the game, Dante Cannon-Ford started off a scoring streak for the Lakers that put them back into the game. The Lakers couldn't quite hold on, and lost the game 63-55.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Derek Slywka with 15 points, four rebounds, and five assists, Dobbins with 10 points and five rebounds, and Cannon-Ford with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

The Lakers will play again on Saturday, November 23rd. They will travel to Hudson Valley Community College and will play at 3:00pm.
