Lakers Defense Shines Over Panthers

DRYDEN, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team added another win to their record on their first game back from Thanksgiving break on Wednesday against the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers. The Lakers won 94-76.

 

It was a close first half for the Lakers and the Panthers. The Panthers went into halftime with the lead, but only by three points. The score at the half was 51-48.

 

When both teams came back from halftime, there was a shift in game play. The Lakers defense really showed up. They only allowed 25 points from the Panthers. The Lakers also kept on track with their offense and scored only two points less than they did in the first half. The Lakers came out on top at the end of the game with a score of 94-76.

 

Game leaders for the Lakers were Hakeem Dobbins with 21 points, three rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block, Gedeon Germinal with 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block, and Gethro Germinal with 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

 

The Lakers have three more games until the semester break. Their next game is on Saturday, December 17th against the Columbia-Greene Community College Twins. They will play at 2:00pm
