Fouls Too Much To Beat Corning

CORNING, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team lost another one on the road, this time to the Corning Community College Red Barons on Saturday. The Lakers lost 86-75.

The Lakers previous loss to the Red Barons was fresh on their mind going into the game on Saturday. They were prepared to find a way to come out on top. They played that way in the first half of the game. It was a hard fought battle, just like the game played at home last time. The Lakers managed to gain the lead going into halftime, 39-38.

It was a different story for the second half. There were numerous fouls called against the Lakers that really hurt them. They did their best to keep their lead, but were not successful. The Lakers kept scoring almost as much as they did in the first half, but with the extra free throws, and the momentum coming from the Red Barons, the score was switched with the Red Barons winning 86-75.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Hakeem Dobbins with 17 points, Gedeon Germinal with 16 points, three rebounds, two steals, and two assists, and Romero Whyte with six points and 11 rebounds.

The Lakers look for redemption against Cayuga Community College on Wednesday, February 12th. They will play at Cayuga at 7:00pm.
