Men's Basketball Honors Sophomores At Final Regular Season Game

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team played their final regular season game on Saturday against the Onondaga Community College Lazers. The Lakers lost a tough one 88-79.

It was a close game on Saturday for both teams. The first points of the game were scored by the Lazers. Hakeem Dobbins answered back with a sunken three-pointer to put the Lakers in the lead. It went back and forth for a bit, but the Lakers had a six point lead going into halftime, 40-34.

The first points after halftime were from the Lazers again. They quickly eliminated the deficit, and the game was tied up after one and a half minutes. The game went back and forth again. The Lazers grabbed the lead with eight minutes left in the game. They would hold onto it from there. The Lazers took the win 88-79.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Hakeem Dobbins with 23 points, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals, Gethro Germinal with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals, and Rudy Bragg with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

The Lakers honored their three sophomores before the game began, Hakeem Dobbins, Rudy Bragg, and Riley Spingler.

The Lakers will start Regional play on Saturday, February 22nd at 1:00pm. They will be the higher seed and host the game, but will not know their opponent until Thursday night.
