Hawks Snap Lakers 2-game Win Streak

Utica, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team dropped their game against the Hawks of Mohawk Valley Community College, 96-61, ending the Lakers 2-game win streak.

The Laker defense struggled to stop the Hawks attack, while the Lakers also struggled on the offensive end, shooting 23.8% from the field and turning the ball over 15 times on the afternoon. 

Sophomore Jevonte Williams (Rochester, N.Y./ Rush Henrietta) added 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 defensive and 1 offensive. Williams also dished out 1 assist and grabbed 3 steals on the day. Teammate Ben Waterman (Savannah, N.Y.) added 12 points to the Lakers total, adding 2 offensive rebounds and 2 defensive rebounds, while dishing out 2 assists.

Freshman Devon Payton (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) added 11 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals while Danny Amador (Naples, F.L./ Palmetto Ridge) contributed 9 points and dished out 2 assists, while also grabbing 1 rebound on the afternoon.

The Lakers look to get back on track in a quick turnaround as the Laker travel to Herkimer College in matchup against the Generals tomorrow, November 14th at 2 PM.
