Lazers Complete Regular Season Sweep on Lakers

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team was on the road in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup with the Lazers of Onondaga Community College in Allyn Hall Gymnasium. The nationally ranked Lazers came away with the victory by a score of 76-67.

Lakers Sophomore Jevonte Williams (Rochester, N.Y./ Rush Henrietta) netted a team-high 27 points to lead the team in the scoring column on 58% shooting. Williams corraled 5 rebounds while dishing out 5 dimes and blocking 1 shot on defense. Freshman Devon Payton (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) added 14 points and 2 dimes on offense, while pulling in 4 rebounds and a team-high 4 steals.

Freshman CJ James (Victor, N.Y./ Victor) recorded his 3rd-straight double-double, good for 13 points and 11 rebounds. In an all-around performance, James also netted 2 steals and 2 blocks on defense for the Lakers. Lakers Sophomore Ben Waterman (Savannah, N.Y.) added 5 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists, while teammate Jaisan Parker (Durham, N.C./ Bull City Prep) added 2 points, 1 rebounds, 1 assist and a single steal. 

The Lakers continue their road trip tomorrow against the SUNY Jefferson Cannoneers in a 2 PM contest.
