Wilder Paces Offense With 30 Points on the Road

AUBURN, N.Y. - The Lakers traveled to Cayuga Community College for their third game of the season for an NJCAA Region III matchup with the Spartans. The two teams battled back and forth, with the Lakers trailing by two at halftime. The Spartans would pull away in the second half to secure a 88-78 victory.

Freshman Bruce Wilder Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./ Fairport) paced the Laker's offense with 30 points and 5 assists. The freshman guard would pull down 7 defensive rebounds, snag 3 steals, and block 3 shots in a breakout game. Teammates Alex Hill (Rochester, N.Y./ Fairport) finished with 10 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and a steal while starter Danny Amador (Naples, F.L./ Palmetto Ridge) added 6 points, 2. rebounds, 1 assist and a block to his tally.

Paxton Creek (Kalgoorie, Australia/ Eastern Goldfields) drained two 3-pointers and finished with 8 points, Pacey Hopkins (Avoca, N.Y./ Avoca) shot an efficient 2-3 from the field, finishing with 6 points, 1 rebound, and a steal and block apiece. In his first game of the season, Jevonte Williams (Rochester, N.Y./ Rush Henrietta) finished with 7 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and a steal.

Other contributors for the Lakers were Michael Morgan (Rochester, N.Y./ Edison Tech) with 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block and DaVaughn Forte (Alexandria, V.A./ T.C. Williams) with 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Also for the Lakers, Juan Navedo (New Britain, C.T./ Cornerstone Charter Academy) finished with 3 points and 2 rebounds, and Arona Mane (Bronx, N.Y./ William Grady) with 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist.

The Lakers return home this Saturday, November 12th in a 2 PM matchup with the Onondaga Community College Lazers. The Lakers will look to pick up their first win of the season against a 1-2 Lazers squad.
