Amador Leads Lakers in Hard-Fought Battle on Sophomore Day

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The FLCC men's basketball team hosted the visting Clinton Community College Cougars on Sunday, February 4th for a NJCAA Region III contest on the Putt Moore Court. The game was a hard-fought battle, but in the end, the Cougars came out on top with a final score of 79-73.

One player who stood out for the Lakers on sophomore day was Danny Amador (Naples, F.L./ Palmetto Ridge). The guard had another impressive game, putting up 33 points and showing his versatility as a scorer. This was Amador's 6th straight game with 20 or more points, a testament to his consistency and scoring abilities. Amador also contributed 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals in 39 minutes of play.

The Lakers had several other solid contributors in the game, including Spencer Reese (Farmington, N.Y.), who had 12 points and 6 rebounds, and Paxton Creek (Kalgoorie, Australia/ Eastern Goldfields), who had 7 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists. 

Juan Navedo (New Haven, C.T./ Cornerstone Charter Academy) and Donevan Rotmans (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) would make the most of their time on the court. Navedo put up 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in 34 minutes played, while Rotmans added 6 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals in 36 minutes of play.

The Lakers will have a quick turnaround when the Lakers travel to Jefferson Community College on Tuesday, February 7th for a 7 PM regional contest. The Lakers will return home the following day for a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup with the Corning Community College Red Barons on the Putt Moore Court.
