Lakers Battle Behind Amador's 38-point Outing at Home

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team suffered a tough defeat against the Corning Community College Red Barons, falling 97-72.

Despite the loss, one player stood out with a career-high performance in sophomore Danny Amador (Naples, F.L./ Palmetto Ridge). Amador had a career game, scoring a game-high 38 points in 40 minutes of play, shooting 15-28 (53.6%) from the field, including 6-13 (46.2%) from beyond the arc.

Juan Navedo (New Britain, C.T./ Cornerstone Charter Academy) also contributed for the Lakers with 13 points in 23 minutes. Donevan Rotmans (Rochester, N.Y./ Gates Chili) pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds, and Paxton Creek (Kalgoorie, Australia/ Eastern Goldfields) contributed 8 rebounds and 3 blocks to the Lakers effort.

Frankie Oropeza (Rochester, N.Y./ Greece Athena) added 3 points in 26 minutes off the bench. Teammate Jorge Oropeza (Rochester, N.Y./ Greece Athena) contributed 4 points in 27 minutes off the bench, going 2-2 (100%) from the field.

Despite their best efforts, the Lakers fell short, with Corning Community College's strong performance leading to the 97-72 victory. The Lakers will look to bounce back in their next game on Friday, February 10th against Herkimer County at 5 PM. The Lakers will then return home on February 15th for the final home game of their regular season against Cayuga Community College at 6 PM.
