Laker Drop Third Straight in Conference Matchup

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team welcomed conference foe Tompkins Cortland Community College to campus Tuesday evening for a matchup on the Putt Moore Court. The Panthers, who entered the game with a record of 5-1 jumped out to an early 13 points lead and never looked back. Despite multiple efforts by the Lakers to bring the game within striking distance, the Panthers would prevail, 89-60.

Freshman Jace Brown (Red Creek, N.Y./Red Creek) earned the start and made the most of it, recording 8 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to finish just short of a double-double. Sophomore Andrew Edwards-Ferrell (Rochester, N.Y./U Prep) added 6 points and 9 rebounds to his total in a strong game.

Teammates Felton Gray (Rochester, N.Y./Monroe) and Bruce Wilder Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Fairport) both added 6 points off the bench. Gray's perfect shooting effort and Wilder Jr.'s two three-pointers provided a spark to the team's offense. Freshman Davion Jones (Rochester, N.Y./Monroe) rounded out the night with 5 points and 4 rebounds.

The Lakers will look to get back in rhythm this Thursday night for a NJCAA Region III matchup against the visiting Kats of Erie Community College at 7 PM on the Putt Moore Court.
