Men's Basketball Falls to Conference Opponent on the Road

DRYDEN, N.Y. - In a battle featuring a pair of Mid-State Athletic Conference opponents, the TC3 Panthers would sweep their season series with the Lakers in a 77-52 finale. Turnovers proved to be the difference maker as the Panthers jumped out to an early 30-13 lead early in the first half and the Lakers would trail by 13 heading into the break. Despite holding the Panthers scoreless through the final 5 minutes of play, the Lakers would fall short in the team's final matchup of the regular season.

Freshman Jaquan Shears (Rochester, N.Y./Monroe) was a bright spot for the Lakers' offense, leading the scoring with 21 points on an efficient 9-for-16 shooting. Shears added 6 rebounds to his total to wrap up his afternoon. Sophomore Andrew Edwards-Ferrell (Rochester, N.Y./U Prep) added 12 points, connecting on 6 of his 9 attempts from the field. Edwards-Ferrell contributed 6 rebounds and 2 blocks, showing his presence in the paint both offensively and defensively.

Freshman James Reaves Jr. (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena) contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds, while classmate Jace Brown (Red Creek, N.Y./Red Creek), despite only scoring 3 points, led the team in rebounds with 12 on the afternoon.

The Lakers will have the opportunity to get back on track tomorrow, Sunday, January 21st for another conference matchup, this time at home on the Putt Moore Court against the SUNY Broome Hornets with tip-off scheduled for 12 PM.
