Overtime Win Sends Men's Basketball to Conference Tournament

AUBURN, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team pulled out a crucial win on the road over Cayuga Community College Wednesday evening to earn them the final seed in the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) Championships. Tied with SUNY Broome heading into the day, the Lakers held the tiebreaker over the Hornets but needed a win to advance. They would get the job done, earning a 81-77 win in overtime on the road over the Cayuga Spartans.

Up next for the Lakers is a rematch against #15 Genesee Community College on Friday, February 23rd at 7:15 PM, whom the Lakers fell to twice during the regular season. The Cougars, who emerged as the MSAC regular season conference champions will be host to the two-day tournament. The #4-seeded Lakers will battle with the #1-seeded Cougars to determine one of the opponents for the MSAC Championship game on Saturday, February 24th at 1 PM. 

There will be a $5 entry fee. Children under 12 are free to enter the event.
