Lakers Lose Fourth In A Row

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Soccer team dropped another one to the North Country Community College Saints on Sunday. The Lakers lost 4-3.

The Lakers started off strong on Sunday. They were the first to put a score on the board. After a foul close to the goal, Hunter Byron took a free kick. He turned it into a shot that hit the left corner of the goal. This was about two and half minutes into the game. It was a good and quick start for the Lakers.

This wouldn't last. Six minutes later, the Saints would put their first one on the board. Denilson Reyes scored the first goal for the Saints. Just under 15 minutes into the game, the Saints scored their second goal of the game. This goal would belong to Michel Eliacin. The final goal of the half was scored by the Saints. This goal was scored by Zakaria Toure.

Coming back from halftime, the Saints scored again. It would be Reyes second goal of the game. That would finish out the scoring for the Saints. The Lakers were picking up some steam at this point. The second goal of the game for the Lakers were scored by Dominick Morey. He went straight to the goal after Travis Cotton threw him the ball from the sideline, giving him the assist.

The final goal of the game was scored by Anthony Cardilli. Dylan Wood managed to get the ball loose after a previous shot, and gave it to Anthony, crediting him with the assist. They fought hard until the very last seconds of the game. The Lakers ended up losing 4-3.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Byron, Morey, and Cardilli each with one goal, Cotton and Wood with one assist, and Goalkeeper Zach Payne who had eight saves.

The Lakers will look to gain their first win of the season against the Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks on Wednesday, September 11th. They will play at home at 4:00pm.
