DRYDEN, N.Y. - The #2-ranked Lakers (13–1, 5–0) continued their impressive run through their Region III schedule, scoring all three of their goals in the first half en route to their ninth consecutive victory and ninth shutout of the season.
Finn Atkinson (Warrington, England/Kings Leadership Academy) opened the scoring in the 10th minute off a feed from Robin Giesing (Essen, Germany/Gymnasium-Essen-Werden), who then assisted again just before halftime when Daniel Ojedayo (Ibadan, Nigeria/Opicc) doubled the lead.
Moments later, Giesing found the back of the net himself in the 45th minute off a return pass from Atkinson to cap the first half. The goal marked his 41st career tally, tying Athletics Hall of Famer Eric Marsh's (1996–97) all-time program record.
Goalkeeper Matt Walton (Birmingham, England/Walsall Academy) and the Lakers' back line held strong throughout, recording another clean sheet to preserve the 3–0 final.
Looking Ahead:
The Lakers (13–1, 5–0) hit the road for a regional tilt with Onondaga Community College this Saturday, October 11th, at 3:30 PM.
