Bio

Jay Donahue has served as FLCC’s Technical Specialist for Applied Learning and Internships since 2018. He holds a BA from Colgate University and an MA in Humanities and Leadership from New College of California. He joined the FLCC Coaching staff for the Spring 2019 season as the Assistant Track and Field Coach with a focus on Middle and Distance athletes. He coached several athletes to NJCAA regional championship titles in the 800m and 1500m.

Donahue grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA and started running as a walk-on to the Cross Country team as a freshman in high school. He competed as a solid middle of the pack runner in Cross Country and Track at Patriot League NCAA Division I Colgate University from 1996-2000 under now retired Coach Arthur McKinnon. He served as co-captain of the Cross Country team for the 1999 Fall season. Jay has continued to compete since college, with a focus on the 10k-marathon distance. He is honored to be coaching Cross Country at FLCC this season.

In the fall of 2019, Donahue was named as the next head coach of the men's and women's cross country team's at Finger Lakes Community College. 

Under Donahue, his student-athletes have received six All-Conference, five All-Region and two All-American selections. Donahue coached two-time NJCAA Division III All-American Leah Lloyd (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon), who claimed the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship (MSAC) and NJCAA Region III Championship in 2021.
