Softball Falls in Regional Road Matchup

HERKIMER, N.Y. - The Lakers softball team dropped two on the road at Herkimer County Community College Friday afternoon. The Lakers hit the road for a regional matchup with the Generals that saw the team suffer 10-2 and 9-2 losses to fall to 12-16.

Game one vs. Herkimer

Starting pitcher and sophomore Reagan Seelye (Elmira Heights, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison) led the team with a 2-for-2 performance and one run scored. Teammate Natalie Lecceardone (Palmyra, N.Y./Palmyra-Macedon) closely followed with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate, with one of her hits being a 2-run double.

Game two vs. Herkimer

Sophomore Reagan Seelye followed up a strong performance in game one with a 1-for-4 performance in game two; driving in the Lakers lone 2 runs on a double to finish with 2 RBI. 

Freshman Ella Lewis (Lyndonville, N.Y./Lyndonville) finished 1-for-2 with a run scored while Madison DePew (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) picked up a hit as part of a 1-for-3 plate performance.

The Lakers look ahead to their final matchup of the regular season on the road at Tompkins Cortland Community College on a date and time to be determined.
