Lady Lakers Led by Big Three in Road Win

QUEENSBURY, NY. – The Finger Lakes Community College Lady Lakers (14-14, 6-6 MSAC) took down Adirondack Community College today on the road, 79-55. The Lady Lakers were highlighted by the play of Cassandra Strait (Dundee, NY), Britany Monpere (Palmyra, NY), and Kelli McCauley (Irondequoit, NY) in the team's final regular season game of 2011-12. All three freshmen players reached double figures in scoring in the win, led by Strait who scored a game-high 31 points to pace FLCC.

Monpere was the team's second leading scorer with 17 points. She was also one of FLCC's leading rebounders this afternoon with 7, tying teammates Chelsie Travis (Penn Yan, NY) and Jordan Smith (Lyons, NY) for team-high honors.

McCauley was the third Lady Laker to reach double figures in scoring today and was the team leader in assists. She finished the game with 16 points and 6 assists.  

FLCC will play its next game this Saturday (2/25), when it travels to #2 nationally ranked Onondaga Community College to play in the first round of the 2011-12 Mid-State Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. The Lady Lakers are seeded #4 while Onondaga is seeded #1.
