Women's Basketball Ends Weekend With A Split

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team ended their weekend with a loss to the North Country Community College Saints on Sunday. The Lakers lost 98-65.

It was a tough start for the Lakers. They were not making many shots, and ended the first quarter down 30-3.

After a tough first quarter, the Lakers came back with some fire in the second quarter. They increased their scoring, scoring 28 in the second quarter. It wouldn't be enough as they allowed the Saints to continue to score 23 more points.

The Saints continued to dominate after halftime. They lead the third scoring 22 points compared to the Lakers' 15.

The final quarter ended with the Saints scoring 23, and the Lakers scoring 19. This would end the game with a score of 98-65.

The Lakers went 21-57 in the field, giving them a field goal percentage of 36.8%. The Saints went 36-73 in the field, giving them a field goal percentage of 49.3%.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Sarah Lacey with 23 points, four steals, and four blocks, Jamonie Cole with 18 points, and four steals, Becca Reeves with 17 points, and Mackenzie Hamer with five rebounds.

The Lakers will not play again until Sunday, November 18th. They will travel to Herkimer College to play the Generals. Tip off will begin at 12:00pm.
