Lakers Fall To Lazers

CANANDAIGA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team fell to the Onondaga Community College Lazers last night in another Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) matchup last night. The Lakers lost 74-53.

The Lakers started off with the first points on the board. It was a quick layup from the tip by Jordan Naeye. The lead wouldn't last, after an answered layup, then a foul that would put more points on the board for the Lazers. The Lazers took the first quarter with a score of 28-14.

The Lazers really pushed their lead forward in the second quarter. They held the Lakers to only nine points, while they scored 20 more.

After halftime, the Lakers were finding more opportunities. They scored thirteen at the end of the third quarter, and then outscored the Lazers in the fourth quarter. Aleya Eddington taking any open shot she could find, which she would find to be a successful strategy.

The Lakers' extra effort would not be enough, and the Lazers took the game 74-53.

The Lakers shot 25-67 in the field, giving them a 37.3 field goal percentage. The Lazers went 29-69, giving them a 42 percent.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Eddington with 15 points, two rebounds, and two steals, and Becca Reeves with seven points, nine rebounds, and three assists.

The Lakers will now travel to Tompkins Cortland Community College on Saturday, January 26th. This will be another MSAC game. Tip-off will be at 1:00pm.
