Lakers Drop Fourth Straight

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team dropped a tough matchup with the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves Sunday Afternoon. The Lakers losing streak extends to 4 as the team struggles to find a rhythm on the offensive end, as the Lakers drop the game 70-33. The Timberwolves dynamic attack proved difficult for the Lakers defense, the Timberwolves relied on scoring by committee in the matchup with with 8 different players putting it in the net.

Freshman Hayley Andersen (Penn Yan, N.Y./ Penn Yan) continued her stellar play over the past couple of games. Andersen had a double-double on the day, adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. Andersen also came up big on the defensive end for the Lakers, snagging 5 steals on the afternoon to lead all defenders. 

Freshman Abby Nelson (North Rose, N.Y./North Rose-Wolcott) was the Lakers second leading scorer, putting up 10 points, shooting 4 for 9 from the court. Nelson also pulled in 5 rebounds while grabbing 1 steal. Freshman Alicia Morrison (Lyons, N.Y./ Lyons) was a big contributor on the boards for the Lakers, pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Lakers struggled to control the ball in the game, turning it over 25 points to give the Timberwolves extra possesions on the offensive end. The Lakers drop to 2-6 on the season, as they look to find their footing in their next match at home against the Panthers of Tompkins Cortland Community College on December 2nd at 5:30 P.M.
