CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team was home in non-regional matchup with the Vikings of Villa Maria Wednesday night in a game that saw the Lakers fall 87-43. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 2-9 on the season.
Sophomore Izabella Santell (Newark, N.Y./ Newark) led the Lakers, pouring in 20 points and 3 assists, while on defense Santell pulled down 2 rebounds and grabbed 1 steal. Freshman guard Hayley Andersen (Penn Yan, N.Y./ Penn Yan) continued to prove herself as an offensive threat, 16 points on 6-17 shooting.
Freshman center Alicia Morrison (Lyons, N.Y./ Lyons) led the way on defense, pulling down 11 rebounds and swipping 1 steal. On offense Morrison also added 5 points and 1 assist. Guard Ericka Moody (Lyons, N.Y./ Lyons) added 2 points and pulled down 6 rebounds on the night.
The Lakers travel to Niagara County Community College on Wedneday December 15th in a tough matchup with the Thunderwolves. The Lakers will then not see the court in January 6th when SUNY Broome Community College comes to campus.
