CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - Women's Basketball was at home Friday night in a NJCAA Region III matchup with the visiting Cougars of Genesee Community College. The Cougars came out on top in a commanding 70-40 victory.
The Lakers were led by Haylee Andersen (Penn Yan, N.Y./ Penn Yan) who scored a team-high 19 points, along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Fellow teammate Mary Ellen Querrie (Romulus, N.Y./ Romulus) had an impressive outing, pouring in 17 points, while pulling in 4 rebounds, dishing out 2 assists and grabbing 3 steals.
Ericka Moody (Lyons, N.Y./ Lyons) had an impressive night on the boards, tallying 11 on the game. Teammate Abby Nelson (North Rose, N.Y./ North Rose-Wolcott) added in 4 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
The Lakers are on the road in their next matchup, when they travel to SUNY Broome on January 26th in a 5:30 PM Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup.
