Lakers Drop Close One at SUNY Broome

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Lakers were on the road Wednesday night in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup at the Hornets Nest of SUNY Broome Community College. In a hard fought battle, the Lakers fell short by a score of 54-50.

Hayley Andersen (Penn Yan, N.Y./ Penn Yan) continued her impressive streak, scoring 29 points and pulling in 6 rebounds in the matchup, Andersen hits the double digit mark for the 8th time in the team's last 10 games. Fellow teammate Mary Ellen Querrie (Romulus, N.Y./ Romulus) helped set up her teammates, dishing out 6 assists to add to her 8 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals on defense.

Ericka Moody (Lyons, N.Y./ Lyons) continued to dominate the boards, pulling in 7 rebounds while scoring 4 points, while teammate Abby Nelson (North Rose, N.Y./ North Rose-Wolcott) played an all-around game, adding 6 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.

Chyra Patterson (Bronx, N.Y./ Roosevelt) rounded out the day for the Lakers with 3 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist.

The Lakers look to build off an impressive performance when they are back on the court Saturday, January 29th in a matchup with the Cannoneers of SUNY Jefferson at 1 PM.
