Lazers Earn First Win in Season Series Against the Lakers

ONONDAGA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Basketball team dropped their 1st matchup of the season with the Lazers of Onondaga Community College, by a score of 65-23.

Guard Mary Ellen Querrie (Romulus, N.Y./ Romulus) led the offensive attack for the Lakers, dropping in 11 points and 1 assist. Querrie contributed 9 rebounds and 3 steals to her total on the day. Teammate Hayley Andersen (Penn Yan, N.Y./ Penn Yan) was the Lakers second option on offense, adding in 9 points and dishing out a single assist. On defense, Andersen pulled in 2 rebounds and grabbed 1 steal in the process. 

Forward Abby Nelson (North Rose, N.Y./ North Rose-Wolcott) added 1 points, 2 assists and a single rebound, while teammate Mackenzie Johnson-Boser (Dansville, N.Y./ Dansville) added 1 steal and 2 rebounds in a defensive effort. Guard Ericka Moody (Lyons, N.Y./ Lyons) controlled the boards for the Lakers, pulling in 6 rebounds while also scoring 2 points and grabbing a steal.

The Lakers return to action on the road, Wednesday February 5th against the Cougars of Genesee Community College in a NJCAA Region III contest.
