Turnovers Cost The Lakers Against Erie

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - The Lakers traveled to Erie Community College Monday night for a contest against the Kats on their home court. Despite a close first-half, the Lakers were unable to narrow the gap in the second with the Kats outscoring the Lakers 31-15 after the break.

Freshman teammates Allaysha Grady (Sodus, N.Y./ Sodus) and Izzy Robson (Newark, N.Y./ Newark) each led the scoring column with 8 points apiece. Robson would add 4 rebounds and 2 assists to her tally, while Grady finished with 5 rebounds and a steal against the Kats.

Freshman Alyssa Thompson (Barker, N.Y./ Barker) followed up her teammates performances with 6 points of her own to go along with 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Teammate Mikaylah Pocock (Bergen, N.Y./ Byron Bergen) controlled the boards for the team, pulling down 9 rebounds to go along with an assists and 5 points on the night. Pocock was accompanied by teammate Natalie Edmister (Watkins Glen, N.Y./ Watkins Glen) on the board, pulling down 6 defensive rebounds to go along with a steal and block on defense. Edmister would also add 3 points to her tally on the night.

Coming off the bench, Berit Sack (Buffalo, N.Y./ The Park School) would play 25 minutes, and pull down 3 rebounds. Teammate Olivia Fullteron (Clifton Springs, N.Y./ Midlakes) joined Sack off the bench, playing 12 minues and pulling down a rebound to round out her performance.

The Lakers drop to 0-10 on the season, but remained determined to find that elusive first-win of the season. The team will get another shot this Wednesday, December 7th when they travel to Dryden, N.Y. to take on the Tompkins-Cortland Community College Panthers at 5 PM.
