First Half Struggles Costly for Women's Basketball

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The FLCC Lakers women's basketball team traveled to host Onondaga Community College on Wednesday, February 18th for a Region III showdown with the Lazers.

The Lazers came out strong, and would finish the night with a 69-37 victory over the Lakers to cap off their season series at 2-0. For the Lakers, 6 different student-athletes hit the scoring column, led by sophomore Hayley Andersen (Penn Yan, N.Y./ Penn Yan) with 15 points. Freshman Alyssa Thompson (Barker, N.Y./ Barker) followed with 10 points, and Izzy Robson (Newark, N.Y./ Newark) with 5 points.

Other Lakers included Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) with 3 points, Georgia Luft (Elba, N.Y./ Elba) with 2 points, and Natalie Edmister (Watkins Glen, N.Y./ Watkins Glen) with 2 points.

The Lakers will return home for one of their last two home games on Saturday, January 21st for a matchup with the Tompkins-Cortland Community College Panthers. The Lakers women will tip off at 12 PM.
