Lakers Drop Conference Matchup in Allyn Hall

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team dropped to 1-2 with an 82-34 loss in the Allyn Hall Gymnasium against Onondaga Community College.

In her first game with the team, freshman Leah Williams (Olean, N.Y./Olean) did not disappoint, leading the team in points with 11. Williams would command the boards, leading the Lakers with 7 rebounds. Freshman teammate Ciana Galvin (Newark, N.Y./Newark) was another contributor, adding 9 points and 5 rebounds. 

Freshman Alissa Mazzye (Oneida, N.Y./Stockbridge Valley) had a strong game, putting up 5 points and grabbing 2 rebounds to make the most of her time on the court. Coming off the bench, freshman Jade Roussell (Dundee, N.Y./Dundee) contributed 4 points and 1 rebound, including a basket from beyond the arc. Sophomore Georgia Luft (Elba, N.Y./Elba) contributed 3 points and 5 rebounds in the start to help lead the Lakers in the rebounding category alongside Williams and Galvin.

Up next for the Lakers is a return to the Putt Moore Court at FLCC for a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup with Genesee Community College this Thursday, November 16th at 7:30 PM.
