Women's Basketball Drops Conference Game on the Road

CORNING, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team dropped a crucial conference matchup on the road Wednesday night to the host Red Barons of Corning Community College. The Red Barons would walk away with a convincing 48-28 win.

Sophomore Izzy Robson (Newark, N.Y./Newark) emerged as the standout for the team, knocking down a game-high 5 three-pointers to pace the Lakers' offense with 15 points. Following shortly behind was teammate Leah Williams (Olean, N.Y./Olean) who added 9 points and 4 rebounds to her tally. Williams would make her presence felt on defense, adding 2 steals to her stat line in the game.

Teammates Jade Roussell (Dundee, N.Y./Dundee) and Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) controlled the boards with 8 and 6 rebounds, respectively, while Roussell rounded out the scoring with 4 points.

Two games remain on the schedule for the women's basketball program, a home contest against the Herkimer County Generals this Friday, February 9th at 5 PM, followed by a road game on Wednesday, February 14th at Cayuga Community College. The Lakers' placement in conference and regional play will be determined in these final two games.
