Lakers Fall to Herkimer in Final Home Game

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team hosted Herkimer County for their final home game of the regular season Friday night. The Generals, who entered the game with a record of 11-10 and vying for a playoff spot, earned the victory over the host Lakers, 81-26.

Sophomores Izzy Robson (Newark, N.Y./Newark) and Georgia Luft (Elba, N.Y./Elba) each contributed 8 points, leading the scoring efforts for the Lakers. Luft, playing the entire 40 minutes, made her mark on 4-for-10 shooting from the field, while Robson added two three-pointers.

Freshman Leah Williams (Olean, N.Y./Olean) led the team in rebounding with 7, alongside her 2 points and 2 blocks on defense. Classmate Jade Roussell (Dundee, N.Y./Dundee) with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal and Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) adding 4 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 1 steal, both contributed in an overall effort.

Up next for the Lakers is their regular season finale on the road at Cayuga Community College next Wednesday, February 15th at 7 PM.
