Women's Basketball Concludes Season on the Road

AUBURN, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College women's basketball team concluded their season on the road against Cayuga Community College Wednesday evening in a Mid-State Athletic Conference showdown. Despite a strong first half of the game, the Lakers would fall to the Spartans by a score of 69-49. With the loss, the Lakers wrap up the season with a record of 6-12, their best win total since the 2019-20 season.

Sophomore Izzy Robson (Newark, N.Y./Newark) shined in her final game wearing the Lakers blue and green, knocking down 6 three-pointers on 6-for-8 shooting to finish with 19 points. Robson's three point performance ties the second-most three-pointers in a game in FLCC women's basketball program history, most recently achieve by Hayley Andersen on November 14th, 2022 against Roberts Wesleyan University. Robson would add 2 rebounds and 2 assists to her tally to round out a historic outing.

Teammates Georgia Luft (Elba, N.Y./Elba) and Jade Roussell (Dundee, N.Y./Dundee) supported the scoring with 10 and 8 points respectively, while freshman Leah Williams (Olean, N.Y./Olean) controlled the boards with 6 rebounds, while ochestrating the Lakers offense with a game-high 6 assists. Sophomore Quynn Tallman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) rounded out the evening for the Lakers with a strong overall performance, adding 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals on defense.

The Lakers will say farewell to three sophomores, all of which played two season for the women's basketball program including Georgia LuftQuynn Tallman, and Izzy Robson. With their departures, the 2024-25 women's basketball season will feature many new faces as the program looks to continue to improve.
