Women's Soccer Starts A Win Streak

WATERTOWN, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Women's Soccer team is on their second win in a row. The Lakers played against the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers this past Wednesday, and won 5-1.

After coming off of a big win against Cayuga Community College on Saturday, the Lakers were ready to keep up their momentum. The match started with a Cannoneer goal from Susie Erck. The lead for the Cannoneers would soon be over after Ashlyn Piccarreto scored her first of the night. She was assisted by Alexis Gossage. Four minutes later, Gossage grabbed a goal for herself, unassisted. Keeping the goals going, was Savannah Bienias who was assisted by Gossage. Gossage would then score again, this time assisted by Jessica Swalbach. The final goal of the night was scored again, by Piccarreto, and assisted by Gossage.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Gossage with two goals, and three assists, Piccareto with two goals, and Goal Keeper, Alexa Salatel, with seven saves, and only one goal against.

The Lakers will play next on Saturday, September 29th at Corning Community College. They will kick off their match at 12:00pm.
